Permits / Applications

Building Permits are required for, but not limited to, all new construction, additions and/or structural alterations, decks, patios, sheds, above ground and in ground pools, temporary and permanent signs, roads and driveways.
Permits are also required for all demolition and fuel storage tank installation.
For residences, Use and Occupancy permits are only required for new construction and for houses that have been vacant for one year or longer. A Use and Occupancy permit is required for all commercial or industrial properties when the use, operator, and/or tenant is changed.
Although fences and walls do not require a permit, the Township Zoning Ordinance, Article III, Section 304.A.7. regulates the heights and location. For a link to that section, click here. Fences
License fees are required for junkyards, mobile homes, mobile parks, and for all transient retail merchants.
Registrations are required for all home occupations and landlord tenants.
Contractor Registration - Act 132 of 2008The PA Home Consumer Protection Act requires all home improvement contractors, homeowner contractors and landscapers under (P.L. 1228, No. 162) to register with Consumer Affairs Department of PA prior to July 1, 2009. A license number must be provided prior to the issuance of any home improvement building permit. (www.attorneygeneral.gov)
For all Subdivision and/or Land Development questions, please refer to the Township Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance for direction and requirements. An application and checklist are available below. Plan submissions for the Planning Commission agenda must be made 14 business days prior to the date of the meeting. Planning Commission meetings are held the third Tuesday of every month.
For Interpretation, or a request for a Special Exception or Variance of the Township Zoning Ordinance, a Zoning Hearing application must be filed with the Township Secretary, along with the appropriate fee ($500.00). A Zoning Hearing application is available below. The hearings are conducted by the Zoning Hearing Board. When an application for a Zoning Hearing is filed, the property in question is posted and all residents within 500 feet of the property are notified in writing of the date and time of the hearing.
A Conditional Use Hearing is required when a desired use is listed as a Conditional Use in the Township Zoning Ordinance. These hearings are conducted by the Board of Supervisors. An application for a Conditional Use Hearing must be filed with the Township Secretary, along with the appropriate fee ($500.00). A Conditional Use Hearing application is available below. When an application for a Conditional Use is filed, the property in question is posted and all residents within 500 feet of the property are notified in writing of the date and time of the hearing.
